Music & Curves : "VH1's Divas Celebrates Soul"

 I tuned in last night to watch "VH1's Divas Celebrates Soul" and enjoyed watching some of my favorite singers perform. My favorites of the night were Jill Scott and Ledisi, these two ladies have pipes for days, they could sing the alphabet and I would be blown away! I also enjoyed Kelly Clarkson and Sharon Jone's performance (not pictured), as these ladies voices also can't be denied.

The show did leave me  wishing more of my favorite soul singers were there in attendance, but everyone looked great, especially my curvy ladies! If you missed the show check out the opening performance below from Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, and Kelly Clarkson.

Holiday Glam: My Top 5 Curvy Holiday Looks

I have said this many times before, I love this time of the year! The holiday season is a time to get glamorous and enjoy getting dressed up for the festive parties that are constantly happening during this time of the year. Giving Thanks!

I want to wish all of my readers a great big Happy Thanksgiving! Mom to be Beyonce was spotted out and about in NYC recently looking casual and chic.  I love this entire outfit as it combines trendy pieces in a way that is understated and simple. Animal prints, the color red, and statement footwear are definitely elements that are inspiring my wardrobe and looks for this fall/winter season. I created a look for less inspired by Beyonce's look. What do you think?

Fashionable Deals: Nordstrom's Half-Yearly Sale

 

 

 

 I love shopping, but I love a good sale even more. The Nordstrom half-yearly sale has made my entire weekend! I found so many great deals on the items I have been stalking for months. The shoe sale is full of great footwear, but I was also excited about all of the plus-size Vince Camuto items that have been reduced. There are also some great dresses that are perfect for making the rounds at the upcoming holiday parties at some great prices. I'm not sure when this sale ends but this is one you do not want to miss. Happy Shopping!

Trend Report: The Perfect Blouse

I am ALL about the blouse this season. I think it is a super chic addition to any look. I love the tie-neck styles as they have that retro vibe that adds a certain trendy element. I found some awesome styles while over on the Nordstrom website.  My favorite blouse being the Vince Camuto version on the left, I think the studded cuffs totally gives this blouse an upgrade.

Frugal Fashion Tip: If you are price conscious fashionista you can also get this look by taking a simple blouse you might already have and tying a thin scarf around your neck. Old items can become a new again with a little imagination, which is a great way to re-purpose items you might already have in your closet.
