Lands' End Plus Size Fashion Review
0 comments
I was recently selected as one of 25 bloggers to participate in Lands' End Plus Size Fashion "Show Us Your Style" blog opportunity. I was able to select one item of my choice for review purposes from the Lands' End web site. The item I selected had to be something that matched my personal style, so of course I went straight for the dress section!
I haven't shopped the Lands' End plus size section in a very long time, as I mostly only turn to them for cardigans and sweaters. It was great to see how much their plus size clothing option had grown. Choosing just one dress proved not to be so easy, and I spent a few days going through their offerings. I finally settled on this pattern cotton silk flare dress.
My first time wearing this dress I was in love, it also didn't hurt that I received so many compliments while wearing it. I wore this dress to work, but I still wanted to add a little punch so I paired it with my pink cardigan and pumps. This is a dress that can be dressed up or dressed down; I could totally see wearing this to classy event.
My Review:
The quality of this dress is superb; it's well lined and made of a blend of cotton and silk that feels great on the body. Did I mention this dress also has pockets, totally love that added touch! The cut of this dress is very flattering. I loved the effect of the empire waist, the fit and flair skirt, and the length. Standing at only 5'2 I didn't feel swallowed up in this dress, which makes it a winner in my book. My only con is the neckline is a little low and didn't support my chest very well. The dress does have built in straps to secure bra straps from slipping, but does nothing for over exposed decolletage. I simply added a cami underneath to prevent any slippage. All in all this dress wins high scores with me!

Blog in Transition
0 comments
I have been thinking for awhile that it was time to upgrade this blog. After some thought and serious contemplation I realized that I was also ready to give the content of the blog a slight overhaul. With this decision made I felt that a new name was also necessary. So after much thought, I would like to introduce my new blog Society of Curves™
This blog will maintain the same focus on finding great fashion for women with curves, but also expand to include several other topics important to women all over the world. I hope that you will continue to follow my new blog, and share in this curve loving, celebration of beauty.
Now that I'm finally happy with the new name, I am ready to start the process of the blog redesign. I am realizing through this process my technical blog maintenance skills need work, please excuse any messiness during this transition. I look forward to welcoming you back to my new and improved blog soon!

Color Me Friday!
0 commentsOk, can we please all take a second to stare in wonder at the amazingness of this dress! Monif C is officially the best friend I can not live without. She consistently keeps churning out to die for dresses, that make curvy girls all over the world rejoice.
Ok moment over.........
Seriously, not only do I love this dress, but the fact that it comes in one of my favorite colors this season makes it even more of a winner in my book. I am seriously obsessed with the color coral. This color screams summer to me; it instantly makes me think of sunny days, sandy beaches, and hot summer nights. Color blocking is a huge trend this year, and coral is also a color that lends itself well to this trend as illustrated in the styling on the dress above. I can't wait to add a few different styles in this hue to my closet.

Shoe Spotting: Fashionable Wide Width Platforms
0 commentsI'm a high heel fanatic! I also have the unfortunate pleasure of having a wide foot, which means usually the shoes I lust, swoon, and die over don't always fit me. Shoes are a passion for many women, and are the staple of any fashionable woman's wardrobe. For a woman finding shoes that fit is only half the battle; style would be the next runner up in importance when picking the perfect shoe. When you have a wide foot the battle for to die for footwear gets even more complicated. I like the excitement and trendiness of shoes styles by Steve Madden and Jessica Simpson. Unfortunately, I often can't squeeze my foot into their shoes and similar styles in wide width are hard to find.
So imagine my surprise when I came across the shoe styles pictured above on the DSW web site. Platforms and wedges are the big shoe trend of the moment so for me this an amazing find. The bonus being they are all available in wide width! My favorite pair are the BCBG sandals on the left, I really need these in my life!
To all my wide foot girls where do you shop for fashionable footwear? Also, what styles of shoes do you look for that you never seem to find?

Shop: Piperlime
0 comments
Let me start this post by saying how much I love the Piperlime web site. If they sold plus sizes I would probably make this my one-stop shop destination. From on trend shoes to accessories I find tons of great things on their site. One of my favorite trends for spring/summer are high-low hems. I'm totally in love with the Hive & Honey dress pictured above. This particular dress only goes up to a Large, but I will definitely be searching for something similar in plus size.
I am super into wedges so of course the Eric Rutberg wedge is giving me life! I love how on trend it is with the clever use of color blocking. Piperlime is also a great destination for accessories, and with summer approaching I definitely will be turning to them to help accessorize my summer dresses.
They carry a lot of pricey designer items, but they also have a girl on a budget section that I love checking out. This section takes into the account the girl who has great style but may not have the budget to match!
If you are a shopaholic like me, this is great site to add to your list.

Date Night Chic: Single Girls Unite!
0 commentsValentine's Day has come and gone, and this year instead of feeling down about being single I decided to issue a personal challenge to myself for next year. I normally hate dating! But I realize I will never find the love I really want if I don't get out there. So I am kicking off a new era in my life, a more social era. I am challenging myself to get out and date, and actually meet some men lol!
Of course this new dating phase will require the appropriate wardrobe. I put together the look above as what I think is a perfect date night look. This look is chic, classy, and just the right amount of sexy. I'm looking for a man that can appreciate a woman with beauty and brains, and need my wardrobe to flatter and not distract. What do you think, does this look hit the mark?
To all my single girls out there, what are you doing to bring new love into your life? Can't wait to share stories...Single Girls Unite!

Shoe Style Trends: Sneaker Heels
0 comments
My co-worker turned me onto this sneaker heel trend about a month a go, and at first I wasn't 100% on board. I remember thinking that this style of shoe is way to trendy for me!
But then I came across these Giuseppe Zanotti Suede and Leather Sneaker Wedges on a recent post on the Refinery web site; I must say only one of my favorite shoes brands could get my mind to change so quickly. I live and breathe for Giuseppe's! Suddenly, I am thinking sneaker heels may just deserve a place in my closet.
I put together a few looks featuring this shoe style. What do you think is this shoe style trend a DO or a DON'T?

Oh Those Sexy Curves!
Valentine's Day, the ultimate day of love is a day that brings out the love and passion in most of us. It's also a day when many women embrace and flaunt their womanly curves in delicate bits of lace or satin. Lingerie is the go to item of clothing for this special day. I am very selective about my lingerie it has to fit well, have feminine details, and also make me feel sexy and secure in my curves. I have compiled a list of online stores that carry an extensive selection of lingerie items sure to show off those sexy curves!
